Are you looking for a challenge? Why not get sponsored to do something adventurous and raise funds to support people with disabilities achieving their own challenges?

Whether you want to tick an item off your bucket list or complete a challenge with your family, friends or work colleagues, challenges provide you with the opportunity to push your own boundaries and create lasting memories. The choices are endless, you can decide to run, cycle or trek, or take on a hair-raising skydive – we’d love to hear from you.

Although we do not organise any overseas challenges ourselves, there are lots of companies who host open overseas fundraising challenges, including the following: Action for Charity, Charity Challenge, Global Adventure Challenges, Skyline Overseas.

London Marathon - 28th Apr.

Our charity places are full for 2019. If you have your own ballot place and would like to run in aid of Calvert Trust please get in touch today.

The date of the 2020 London Marathon is still TBC, but please complete our provisional application form to register your interest.

Entry fee: £100. Fundraising target: £1600.

Keswick2Barrow Walk or Run - 11th May

Teams of 4-12 members can test themselves on a challenging route in the Lake District, to raise money for charity.

Entry fee: £20. Deadline for entries: 20-04-19.

Sponsorship: £80 minimum (67% to Calvert Trust as your chosen charity.)

Gelt Gladiator, Mud Obstacle Event - 8/9th Jun.

If fundraising for Calvert we can offer discounted entry in the following:

3k Event - muddy & crazy; perfect for sports teams & clubs; and one for all the family (children over the age of 6). Discounted entry fee: £20

10k Event - this is the most popular Gelt Gladiator course; a test for all levels of fitness with a minimum of 30 obstacles throughout the course. Discounted entry fee: £40

Ride to the Sun, Cycle - 22nd Jun.

Looking for something different? Cycle 100 miles through the night on lovely quiet roads from Carlisle, cross the Scottish border and head north to catch the sunrise at Cramond Beach, Firth of Forth on the weekend nearest summer solstice.

Paris to Geneva, Cycle - 24th-28th Jul.

Cycle 311 miles from London to Paris for a truly inspirational experience; make friends for life, push yourself beyond your limits but most of all make memories you’ll cherish for a lifetime. You could even witness the finale of the world's greatest cycle race!

Super Hero Tri - 17th Aug.

Release your inner superhero & take on this accessible Tri Challenge, near Windsor. All types of gadgets welcome: from floats & boats, to buggies, powerchairs, adaptive bikes. Individual or Team entries available; if at least 1 team member has a disability.

SPRINT Swim 150m - Bike 3k - Push/Run 1k

HALF: Swim 400m - Bike 10k- Push/Run 2.5k

Entry fee: £35 - £60. Sponsorship target: £200

Great North Run - 8th Sep.

Join Team Calvert in the UKs most famous half marathon in Newcastle. If you would like one of our charity places or have your own ballot place & would like to run in aid of Calvert Trust please get in touch.

Tiger Boat Race - 14th Sep.

Teams of 10 colleagues, friends or family can enter the Rotary Derwentwater Tiger Boat Challenge; raise funds for Calvert Trust & have a fun day out at the same time. Fancy dress optional! No experience necessary, teamwork essential!

Great wall of China Trek - 11th to 19th Oct.

A fantastic challenge hiking for five days along this magnificent structure, voted as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Exclusive to Global Adventure Challenges: ‘lend a hand’ repairing a section of the Wall currently being reconstructed. Place a brick in this newly restored section, ensuring your own place in the Great Wall of China! Another highlight of this challenge is conquering the 1,000 steps up to the wall at Mutianyu – culminating with the ascent of the ‘Heavenly Ladder’

Vietnam to Cambodia Cycle - 9-19th Nov.

This breath taking charity bike ride will take you from Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia; cycling 382km, through two fascinating countries, one awesome charity challenge.

Winter Wonderwheels - 1st Dec.

Everyday Superheroes can cycle, walk, run, push or anything in between; 1km, 5km or 10km around the iconic Dorney Lake, Windsor. Adaptive bikes, trikes, buggies, blades, race runners, day & powerchairs welcome. Individual or Team entries available, at least one team member to have any kind of disability.

If you are taking part in a fundraising challenge or organising a fundraising event in aid of Lake District Calvert Trust a great way to raise money is to set up your own fundraising page online. This is an easy way to collect sponsorship and saves you having to chase your friends, family and colleagues for money. You can email the link to all your contacts and add it to your social media sites such as Facebook.
