Cumbria Dark Skies Festival – 21st to 23rd February 2020

An accessible 2-night residential weekend for both disability and non-disability groups

The inaugural Cumbria Dark Skies Festival will take place on 21st to 23rd February 2020. The festival is being organised by a partnership of organisations including Friends of the Lake District, Cumbria Tourism, Forestry England and the Lake District National Park Authority. The objective is to celebrate Cumbria’s dark skies with visitors and residents to raise awareness of their importance. Calvert Lakes is proud to be a participating in this inaugural event by organising an accessible 2-night residential weekend for both disability and non-disability groups.

Our stargazing weekend is a fully catered and residential weekend giving stargazers the opportunity to take part in a variety of night-sky activities as part of the Lake District Dark Skies Festival. This weekend is accessible to those with both physical and learning disabilities as our centre is fully equipped with a range of specialist equipment, but unlike most of our residential stays this is also open to non-disabled groups and visitors.

The £149 per person price is based on 2 people sharing a twin room with all rooms having en-suite wet rooms and covers all accommodation, catering and activities.
