Fully accessible bed and breakfast accommodation at Calvert Lakes near Keswick
En-suite rooms, fully catered and use of indoor hydro-therapy pool
Our centre, which also houses all our catered accommodation and hydrotherapy pool, is fully accessible throughout via a combination of ramps and lifts. Centred around a traditional Cumbrian farmstead, the centre retains the character of its origins, with any new buildings built from local stone and techniques in a sympathetic style. Accommodation is now available through to March 29th 2021 with the exception of 24th, 25th and 26th December 2020. There will be a 50% supplement applied to New Years Eve only.
Accommodation is provided on a B & B basis with full English breakfast included, and the option of a three course evening meal if required. Prices quoted are per room per night dependent on the numbers in each room booked, and are based on a minimum stay of two nights. Please see the table below for our prices or call 017687 72255 and speak to the bookings team to discuss your exact requirements. Weekends are Friday/Saturday, with mid-week as Sunday to Thursday.
The Centre looks out towards over Bassenthwaite Lake, with the fells of Seat How, Barf and Broom Fell in the background.
We are able to cater for profound and complex disabilities. Our rooms are mainly twins, with a few triples (single and bunk beds) and a quad room (2 singles and a bunk bed).
We take safeguarding issues very seriously, so our accommodation is over 3 separate areas, the Farmhouse, the Lower Byre and the Upper Byre, with each of these split down into 2 lockable corridors.
Our bedrooms are all en-suite with level entry wet-room and toilet facilities. A number of the bedrooms also feature electric raisable beds which can be allocated if required. In rooms we can also place portable electric hoists, free-standing shower-chairs and medical fridges, with our intention being that with the exception of wheelchairs, you don’t need to bring any specialist equipment.
We can also offer B&B residents day activities, but they are dependent on staff availability.
Activities are provided as described in the table below and are only available for stays of two or more nights. They must be booked at least a week prior to arrival. It may be possible to book later than this but it is strictly by arrangement with the Activities Manager at the centre. If you would like to be certain of having your own activity group then it is possible to pay the group rate of £150.00 for up to 8 people.
Residents can also access our hydrotherapy pool and sensory room, and there is a bar / games room on site which is open in the evening in accordance with our Covid-19 safety policies.
