Three self-contained apartments at Calvert Lakes

Overlooking Bassenthwaite near Keswick in the heart of the Lake District

With the new restrictions in place as regards social distancing and household groups there will be fewer residents taking part in activity programmes, so spare accommodation has been repurposed into 3 self-contained 2 bedroom mini-apartments that can each sleep up to 4 people.

All three are located within the complex which is centred around an 18th Century farmhouse and its buildings, that have seen sympathetic development in keeping with its location. Residents will have access to the on-site hydrotherapy pool, sensory room and communal bar / games room (in compliance with Calvert Lakes’ Covid-19 policies) and there is parking for up to 2 cars per property.

They are available to charities, organisations or individual families looking for a safe and secure location for people to recuperate following the effects of lockdown on their welfare, well-being or mental health. They are also available to those with or without disabilities.

The Apartments

Flat 1 - Holly

This self-contained ground floor unit is in a building that also comprises a further 3 flats and a workshop. It is accessed via its own front door and comprises:

  • Front door leading to wheelchair accessible entrance hall from which all other rooms are accessed
  • Lounge with streaming enabled TV
  • Twin bedroom 1 featuring sink and 1 x raisable hospital-style bed
  • Twin bedroom 2
  • Kitchen Diner
  • Bathroom featuring toilet, sink and wetroom
  • Hoist and shower chair can be provided upon request
  • c. 90sqm floorspace in total

PLEASE NOTE: This unit (pictured below) can be rented on a catered OR self-catering basis with prices as outlined in the pricing table.

Flat 2 & 3 – Lower Byre Annex and Upper Byre Annex

These self-contained units are on the 1st and 2nd floor of our largest area of accommodation. Each floor is accessed via a shared door and entrance area, but each flat is then separated from other residents via a security door which only those using the individual flats can enter. Behind this door the units then comprise:

  • Wide wheelchair accessible corridor from which the other 3 rooms are accessed
  • Twin bedroom 1 featuring en-suite wetroom and 1 x raisable hospital-style bed
  • Lounge with streaming enabled TV and additional wetroom
  • Twin bedroom 2 featuring en-suite wetroom and 1 x raisable hospital-style bed
  • Hoist and shower chair can be provided upon request
  • c.121sqm floorspace in total

PLEASE NOTE: These units can be rented on a catered basis only with prices as outlined below.

Prices and Duration

 

 

 

We offer a flat rate throughout the year and are taking bookings through to the end of March 2021.

  • 7 night full weeks can run from Monday – Monday OR Friday to Friday
  • 4 night midweeks run Monday – Friday only
  • 3 night weekends run Friday – Monday only
  • Longer stays are available with price on application

We can also offer residents of these units day activities, but they are dependent on staff availability.

Activities can be provided at a group rate of £150.00 per session (morning and/or afternoon), but are only available for stays of two or more nights. They must be booked at least a week prior to arrival.

Catering / Self-Catering

  • Flat 1 – Holly can be rented on either a catered or self-catering basis as it has its own kitchen. The Upper and Lower Byre Annexes are available on a catered only basis.
  • The catering option includes all meals from dinner on arrival day through to breakfast on departure with a packed lunch on each full day
  • If taking the catered option, breakfast and dinner can be taken in the communal dining area or taken back to the apartments

Cleaning and Covid-19 Policies

  • All 3 units will be deep-cleaned and fogged between use by our on-site domestic team
  • Hand sanitiser will be available in each property as well as multiple points through the centre
  • The domestic team will not access the properties during your stay unless requested
