Groom/ Riding Instructor

We’re currently recruiting for a Groom/Instructor to join our small and friendly team at Calvert Stables, Keswick, CA12 4NT.

This is a full-time position, and we’re looking for applications from candidates who hold a BHS Stage 2 or higher qualification. We specialise in RDA rising and carriage driving, so teaching experience and carriage driving/coaching would be an advantage.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced chef to join our small kitchen team. As part of the Trust’s front-of-house staff, the Chef will be expected to have a friendly manner and a willingness to engage and communicate with our guests to enhance their experience. Flexibility, dedication, and ability to work unsupervised, and excellent teamwork skills are essential to the success of this role.

A member of the Facilities Department, the post holder will have responsibility for providing full-cooked breakfast, packed lunches, and three-course evening meals for approximately 60 people. Provision for special diets and the occasional special function is also required.

Full time – 40 hours per week, including shift and weekend working

Housekeeping Assistant

The Lake District Calvert Trust supports around 4,000 disabled visitors each year staying at our 60-bed residential centre or accessible self-catering apartments. The Housekeeping Assistant will assist with the day-to-day housekeeping and changeover of the Little Crosthwaite Centre, Old Windebrowe site and several other off-site locations.

A member of the Facilities Department, the Housekeeping Assistant is accountable to the Centre Manager via the Head Housekeeper.
The Housekeeping Assistant role is a rewarding and demanding one, particularly on changeover days. As such, the successful applicant will require a hard-working attitude, flexibility, motivation, enthusiasm and dedication.

Full time (35 hours per week) with potential for a part-time position. Includes mid-week and weekend working on a rota basis.
