The Lake District Calvert Trust, a specialist outdoor education centre for people with disabilities, currently has a vacancy for a full-time permanent instructor. The successful candidate will join our dedicated and experienced staff team in delivering high-quality adventurous activities to people with a wide range of physical, learning, and sensory impairments.

Applicants should have a range of National Governing Body awards in, a range of activities including rock-climbing, hill-walking, paddle sports, cycling and sailing or a willingness to undertake further training. An interest in working with people with disabilities is essential.

Candidates should have a full driving license.

Maintenance Manager

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead a small dedicated team with responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of all the Trust’s properties and facilities ensuring excellent provision for our guests.

Salary £22,000 – £24,000

Closing date: 9.00am 10th September 2021

Interviews: 15th-17th September 2021

Start date: 20th October 2021 (or by negotiation)

Chef

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced chef to join our small kitchen team. As part of the Trust’s front-of-house staff, the Chef will be expected to have a friendly manner and a willingness to engage and communicate with our guests to enhance their experience. Flexibility, dedication, and ability to work unsupervised, and excellent teamwork skills are essential to the success of this role.

A member of the Facilities Department, the post holder will have responsibility for providing full-cooked breakfast, packed lunches, and three-course evening meals for approximately 60 people. Provision for special diets and the occasional special function is also required.

Full time – 40 hours per week, including shift and weekend working
