We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced chef to join our small kitchen team. As part of the Trust’s front-of-house staff, the Chef will be expected to have a friendly manner and a willingness to engage and communicate with our guests to enhance their experience. Flexibility, dedication, and ability to work unsupervised, and excellent teamwork skills are essential to the success of this role.

A member of the Facilities Department, the post holder will have responsibility for providing full-cooked breakfast, packed lunches, and three-course evening meals for approximately 60 people. Provision for special diets and the occasional special function is also required.

Full time – 40 hours per week, including shift and weekend working

Property Manager

The Property Manager is an essential member of the Calvert Lakes senior leadership team and is responsible for maintaining all the Trust’s property and facilities. As such they will report to the Calvert Lakes Centre Manager, are responsible to the managers of each service for facilities they operate from and are accountable to the Centre Director and Trustees for the maintenance of the Trusts property portfolio.

The post holder will have extensive experience managing facilities and will supervise and direct maintenance staff at each centre, ensure compliance with essential systems such as fire safety, legionella controls and managing contractors, managing maintenance budgets, and producing facility maintenance, development and improvement plans.

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required.

Housekeeping Assistant

The Lake District Calvert Trust supports around 4,000 disabled visitors each year staying at our 60-bed residential centre or accessible self-catering apartments. The Housekeeping Assistant will assist with the day-to-day housekeeping and changeover of the Little Crosthwaite Centre, Old Windebrowe site and several other off-site locations.

A member of the Facilities Department, the Housekeeping Assistant is accountable to the Centre Manager via the Head Housekeeper.
The Housekeeping Assistant role is a rewarding and demanding one, particularly on changeover days. As such, the successful applicant will require a hard-working attitude, flexibility, motivation, enthusiasm and dedication.

Full time (35 hours per week) with potential for a part-time position. Includes mid-week and weekend working on a rota basis.

Chief Instructor

The Lake District Calvert Trust provides challenging outdoor activities for people with disabilities from our three specialist operating centres. Calvert Lakes is a 60-bed residential centre providing residential educational courses and short breaks for children and families. Calvert Reconnections is a unique residential neuro-rehabilitation service. Calvert Stables provides riding and trap driving activities to support our residential programmes as well as community activities.

The Chief Instructor will support the Centre Manager in the leadership of the activities department of Calvert Lakes with responsibility for the day-to-day management and routine planning of activities and staffing. This job requires an extremely high level of commitment to the centre, a high degree of competence in staff training and development, the ability to deliver training courses (including Disability Awareness Training) and a flair for staff and resource planning and deployment.

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required.

Business Manager

The Calvert Lakes Business Manager is responsible for all aspects of the marketing and sales functions at Calvert Lakes. The primary aim of the role is to ensure that the centre meets its occupancy and income targets. Responsible for the Business Development Department, a multi-functional team that is responsible for our marketing and sales activities.

A member of the Senior Management Team and accountable directly to the Centre Director, the Business Manager will have a high level of flexibility, motivation, enthusiasm, and dedication, with excellent interpersonal skills. They will have the experience and skills needed to develop, implement and deliver strategic marketing plans that will enable the department to achieve challenging sales targets.

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required

Senior Finance Officer

The Senior Finance Officer works as part of a small but important team and is accountable directly to the Centre Director. The post holder is responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the Trusts financial operations across all services and centres, administration of personnel systems, supervising finance staff and providing the Centre Director and Trustee Board with management information.

The successful applicant will have a high level of flexibility, motivation, enthusiasm and dedication, with excellent interpersonal skills. They will have the qualifications, experience and skills needed to ensure effective administration and control of the Trusts finances while developing and making the most of the Xero accounting system.

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
