As a charity, it is vital that we have a board of trustees who are aligned with our objectives and have the relevant skills and experience to help guide and oversee the trust’s operations and finances. We are very lucky to have a range of trustees from a wide variety of backgrounds who donate their time and expertise to ensure that after the 40 years of operation, the Lake District Calvert Trust will continue to delivery challenging outdoor adventure to those with disabilities for many years to come.
In additional to oversight of the overall governance through bi-annual full Trustees Meetings, they also chair quarterly committees that guide revenues, facilities and activities, finance and remuneration. Our trustees will also be heavily involved in fundraising for development projects requiring major capital expenditure outside of the general fundraising required to support our operating costs and additional bursary support.
