What CAN I Do?

Embrace the summer and set yourself a new challenge. Our new swimming event encourages participants to dip or swim in 30 Bays listed on a map around the Lake District in 80 days.

Why?

To raise essential funds to enable children and adults with disabilities to experience outdoor adventure challenges as you challenge yourself dipping in 30 bays over 80 days.

What’s the challenge?

Participants have up to 80 Days to dip or swim in as many of the 30 Bays as possible.

All swimmers are encouraged to swim as much or as little as they want, so you could just swim one stroke in every bay or swim from location to location in the same lake!  You could swim before work, lunchtimes, daytimes, after work or even by moonlight, it’s up to you! Maybe make an afternoon of walking from bay to bay to tick a few off followed by a picnic! It’s all about creating great memories and enjoying the beautiful Lake District.

If you would like to get involved but think that you will be unable to swim at every bay on the list, do as many as you can to help raise awareness and funds for Calvert, as it’s the taking part that counts. For keen wild swimmers wanting a more difficult challenge, the 30 Bays can be completed in 30 Days or even 30 hours! Not only is this an amazing challenge but you will feel the benefits of being involved as wild swimming is proven to be good for your health.

Participants will receive a fundraising pack, and a branded swimming cap. All dippers and swimmers are asked to keep a record of their dips and encouraged to share pictures of their swim on social media.  So come on dive in and join us on our journey around the Lake District!

Where?

At each of the bays there will be a branded sign close to the lake shore to indicate the location.
The bay locations, including a Grid Reference and What Three Word location, can be found on the map below.

A List of the Lakes and Bays can be found HERE

It can be a good idea to combine the two methods to optimise your fundraising opportunities.

Please get in touch with us at fundraising@calvertlakes.org.uk to let us know that you have set up your fundraising page. We would love to hear from you!
